It is no secret that Giovanni Pernice is successful in the spotlight, having rocketed to fame as a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015. And he shows no signs of slowing down in the wake of the latest Amanda Abbington feud claims.

Pernice has hit headlines again this week after The Sun reported his former dance partner Amanda Abbington allegedly requested footage from BBC rehearsals amid rumours of a feud. Abbington quit Strictly early and it was claimed the pair didn't get on behind the scenes.

Despite the apparent ongoing drama, the Italian dancer has shrugged it off as he continues to promote himself outside of the show that made him famous. With no Strictly Come Dancing until the autumn, Pernice has been focusing on his other upcoming projects.

This week the 33-year-old was a guest on The Traitors: Uncloaked, a show fronted by Ed Gamble to discuss the reality series, and he also promoted his new fragrance VITA. Plus, it isn't long before the dancer heads off on his live dancing tour too.

Giovanni Pernice's new career move

In a new post, Pernice revealed the inspiration behind his new career move as he explained he wanted another "creative outlet". He wrote on Instagram: "My aim in launching VITA was to create products to inspire and bring joy to life, and to explore another creative outlet for my passions. My fragrance VITA (Italian for life) is just that, a celebration of life.

"Of positivity when there is obviously so much around us which can be a cause for the opposite. We are starting this journey with high hopes and ambitions, and with many more products in the pipeline. I hope you enjoy VITA as much as I loved creating it, as this image from our launch photoshoot shows!"

His latest career promotion was flooded with support from fans who wrote: "Keep your head held high and know that we all adore you on strictly. You’re a professional doing his job and man, you’re a good dancer and teacher."

"We love you Gio... You got the support of your fans trust me you do. Ignore the background negativity. You're a star. And well done on this fragrance." Others added, "Some people come into your life and enhance it, others try to drain the living daylights out of you... Keep your chin up and the spirit roaring inside of you."

Giovanni Pernice's live tour

While Pernice's schedule isn't jam packed with Strictly, he still continues his passion of dancing. Next week the dancer is heading off on a brand new live tour Let Me Entertain You. The Strictly Come Dancing star is joined by world class professional dancers and West End performers for the show in 2024.

His website promises: "A show of non-stop action - prepare to be entertained." From January to April, Pernice will be touring the UK and his first performance is at Beck Theatre in Hayes on 18 January. From Birmingham to Kent, Pernice will take the show all over the country and it runs for approximately two hours. Last week he revealed more shows were added by "popular demand".

Pernice rose to fame as a professional dancer on BBC's hit show Strictly Come Dancing and it remains one of his biggest passions. He has been working on the show since 2015 and has become a fan favourite over the past eight years.

It was in 2019 though that he lifted the glitterball trophy for the first time with Rose Ayling-Ellis who was the show's first ever deaf contestant. Although it was his first time to win, he has been incredibly successful on the show with his partner's journeys. Pernice reached the final in his first series in 2015 with Georgia May Foote, in 2018 with Debbie McGee and in 2019 with Faye Tozer. He also reached the semi-final with Good Morning Britain's Ranvir Singh in 2020.

Out of his Strictly partners, McGee has defended Pernice with a defiant post on Instagram following the feud rumours with Abbington earlier this week. She wrote: "Happy memories. Giovanni and I had the best of times on Strictly."

The magician's assistant won great praise for sharing her support for the dancer from fans. Among the comments on social media, one person responded: "Well done Debbie thank you for doing this for GIO he doesn't deserve this hope he knows how much his fans are behind him such a lovely man. You & GIO were a brilliant partnership always said you should have won."

Other Strictly stars have spoken about training with Pernice in the past and Ayling-Ellis hailed the star for being an "incredible teacher" after they won the show in 2019.

Earlier this week, the BBC has addressed the ongoing Abbington rumours in a statement on Monday. In a statement, BBC told The Mirror: "The BBC offers a comprehensive range of support to all individuals taking part in our shows.

"Strictly Come Dancing has always taken duty of care incredibly seriously and there is a constant dialogue between senior members of the production team and the contestants to ensure any concerns are addressed swiftly. Strictly has a proud track record as a joyful, positive experience where robust support and assistance is always made available at every stage of the production."
