Girl Scout cookie season was cut short this year due to health concerns related to the coronavirus pandemic. In-person cookie booths were shut down to limit person-to-person contact, but the organization has set up a program to donate any leftover cookies to first responders.

Whether or not Girl Scout cookies are your favorite, there's something so wholesome about buying a few boxes when you come across a cookie booth run by your local troop. In fact, some people love Girl Scout cookies so much that celebrities like Jennifer Garner put together a way to get boxes to people who don't have them accessible near them.

To continue cookie sales while keeping girls and customers safe, the organization started a cookie delivery and donation service. There is also a digital cookie sale platform that can be used to support a specific scout toward reaching her goal.

The program, called Girl Scout Cookie Care, makes ordering cookies for safe home delivery possible in eligible areas. You can also donate the cookies by purchasing them and opting to send them to first responders and veterans.

The Girl Scout cookie program is the largest fundraiser for the Girl Scouts of the USA annually, and helps provide financial resources to keep the Girl Scouts running. Additionally, in response to the cancellation of events, the Girl Scouts have created at-home activities for scouts to participate in so they can continue educating themselves while in-person activities are on pause.
