(COLORADO SPRINGS) — 75 Girl Scout troops braved the weather on Saturday, Feb. 3 for the official start of Girl Scout cookie season. At the Rocky Mountain Vibes Stadium off Tutt Boulevard, near the intersection of North Powers Boulevard and Barnes Road, Girl Scouts picked up their boxes of cookies to begin selling on Sunday, Feb. 4.
Cases of cookies were seen being unloaded from trucks on Saturday as hundreds of volunteers visited 17 sites across Colorado to pick up mountains of cookies on what is known annually as ‘Cookie Delivery Day.’
“A lot of people… they only think about Girl Scouts as just selling cookies, but it’s actually so much more than that, but during this time of the season, it is cookie season so we do get to sell cookies,” said Maddie Jensen, Media Representative for Girl Scouts of Colorado. “A lot of girls and troops make goals and sometimes they use that money toward going to camp or they go on trips and they really give back to the community.”
The Rocky Mountain Vibes Stadium is the biggest pick-up location for Girl Scout cookies in Colorado.
