Girl struck by pellet gun in St. Johns County dies from injuries, sheriff’s office says

A young girl who was struck by a pellet gun on July 4 has passed away from her injuries, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on Tuesday.

She was 13 years old.

The incident happened on Faith Street in Hastings, Florida. The SJCSO report states that when deputies arrived they were told she was shot in the eye by a pellet gun and she had a seizure.

The girl was taken to the hospital in critical condition, the report states.

The report goes on to say a 12-year-old boy shot her with a pellet gun. It is unknown if he will face any charges at this time.
