Girls basketball: Franklin County beats Webster County in Tipoff Classic 55-32
OWENSBORO, Ky. -- After leading 14-12 at the end of the first quarter, Webster County scored just 18 points the rest of the way as Franklin County beat the Lady Trojans 55-32 Friday in the Independence Bank Tipoff Classic at the Sportscenter.
The Lady Flyers (2-0) outscored Webster County 43-18 over the final three quarters.
Nevaeh Carter led Franklin County with 19 points.
Hannah Yates hit four 3-pointers to lead Webster County with 12 points.
The Lady Trojans will face Hopkins Central (3-0) Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Sixth District-Seventh District Challenge at Union County.
