Girls basketball: Mesuch, Fox named first-team all-state among 28 Section 9 honorees

A total of 28 girls were named to the all-state basketball teams, as selected by the New York State Sportswriters Association. Fifteen were chosen from the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association and 13 from the Mid-Hudson Athletic League.

Wallkill sophomore guard Zoe Mesuch and Millbrook junior forward Natalie Fox are the lone local representatives on first teams, in Classes A and C, respectively. Mesuch averaged 21.8 points and 5.8 rebounds for the Panthers. Fox averaged 17.2 points and 12.8 rebounds for the Blazers.
