Girls basketball roundup: Marine City keeps rolling, St. Clair gets back on track

Here are some notable results from Thursday's girls basketball games in the Blue Water Area.

Macomb Dakota 48, Port Huron 35

Daija Brown finished with a team-high 12 points for the Big Reds, who fell to 4-4. Mashyla Hughes contributed eight points.

Port Huron will look to bounce back when it travels to Macomb L'Anse Creuse North at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Marine City 46, Fraser 30

Make it four straight wins for the Mariners, who improved to 6-2. Jade Blanchard led the way with 20 points and four rebounds. Josalyn Dietlin was just as dominant with 16 points and eight boards. Mia Simons chipped in eight points and two rebounds.

Marine City will welcome rival St. Clair at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Marysville 41, Clinton Township Chippewa Valley 13

The Vikings cruised to victory and remain unbeaten at home. Kara Miller scored a game-high 13 points for Marysville, which improved to 7-3.

Ava Grant added 10 points, Avery Wolters had six and Ryan Quain chipped in five. The Vikings are idle until they visit Sterling Heights Stevenson at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

St. Clair 48, St. Clair Shores Lake Shore 16

Ten different players scored for the Saints, who snapped a two-game skid and improved to 5-4. Erin Seros led the way with 10 points. Alexa Vickers totaled eight points, Brooke Grazia added seven and Allie Komarowski had six.

Up next for St. Clair is a road game against Marine City at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Imlay City 56, Yale 44 (Wednesday)

The Spartans snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 8-2. Lexa Forti led the charge with 19 points and four assists. Lily Lengemann contributed 12 points, five assists, five steals and three rebounds.

As for the Bulldogs, they dropped to 4-4 with the loss. Alyssa Bar posted a team-high 12 points.

Yale will look to regroup when it hosts Croswell-Lexington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Imlay City will head to Richmond at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Armada 45, Auburn Hills Oakland Christian 39 (Wednesday)

Sydney Upton finished with 12 points, three rebounds and two assists for the Tigers, who improved to 5-3. Ashlyn Upton and Meya Drob both added 11 points.

Armada will go for its fourth consecutive win when it travels to Almont at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
