Girls basketball: Vote now for the lohud Player of the Week
The postponements finally tailed off last week. Aside from a few bus delays, it was a relatively normal week for most programs in the region.
We are hitting the pause button before play resumes this week to recognize some of the top performers. Readers have an opportunity to vote for a favorite. The poll closes at 1 p.m. Wednesday and the winner will be is featured on various lohud.com social media platforms.

Eva DeChent, Putnam Valley
The junior reached 1,000 career points in a win over Haldane, finishing with 39 points, 11 rebounds and 11 steals. DeChent added 15 points in a 70-64 loss to undefeated Hastings.
Tyler Hormazabal, Lakeland
The senior helped the Hornets remain undefeated, getting 21 points and six steals in a win over Hen Hud. Hormazabal followed up with 33 points and six steals in a victory against Poughkeepsie.
Ariana Kupi, Tappan Zee
The junior finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Nyack, eight points and 11 rebounds in a win over Nanuet and capped the week for the unbeated Dutchmen with 19 points, 17 rebounds and six assists in a statement win over previously unbeated Ursuline.
Madelyn McMath, Carmel
The senior got 18 points, 12 rebounds and five steals in a win over Ursuline B. McMath added 12 points and five rebounds in a loss to Arlington and 19 points, 17 rebounds and two blocks in a win over North Salem.
Michelle Mercado, Ossining
The senior orchestrated a pair of wins for the Pride, handing out 13 assists in an overtime victory against Scarsdale and came up with 14 points and 16 assists in a wire-to-wire victory at Port Chesters.
Ana Ndoci, Yonkers Montessori
The junior collected 19 points, 18 rebounds and four blocks in a win over Leffell. Ndoci added 21 points, 20 rebounds and 11 blocks to help the Lady Eagles extend their winning streak to seven in a row.
Talia Reith, Dobbs Ferry
The senior had 12 points, seven rebounds and five steals in a loss to Bronxville, 17 points and eight rebounds in a win over Edgemont, 14 points and four rebounds in a loss to Irvington and closed out the week with 22 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in a loss to Pleasantville.
Paige Tepedino, Rye
The eighth-grader helped the Garnets string together quality wins against Byram Hills, Ardsley and Pearl River. She had 23 points and 11 rebounds against the Bobcats, 13 points and 10 rebounds against the Panthers and 10 points and 10 steals against the Pirates.
