Girls’ Generation member YoonA and 2PM's Lee Jun-ho to co-star in new rom-com drama 'King the Land'

YoonA of K-pop girl group Girls’ Generation (SNSD) and Lee Jun-ho of boy group 2PM will co-star in an upcoming rom-com K-drama called “King the Land.”

Lee will play Goo Won, a chaebol heir expected to inherit the family company, King Group, a conglomerate that spans ownership of airlines, distribution companies and hotels. Goo Won is described as someone who dislikes fake smiles and is captivating and brilliant in everything except his dating life.

YoonA will play Cheon Sa-Rang, a sanguine and perpetually smiling hotelier at King Hotel, a position she takes because of her early happiest memories there.

The drama will be produced by Npio Entertainment, whose other dramas include “The Red Sleeve,” “Forecasting Love and Weather” and “A Time Called You.” BY4M studios will also co-produce.

Cheon Sung-l, who served as a screenwriter for the recent Netflix zombie drama “All of Us Are Dead” is attached as a creator for the project as well.

Filming is scheduled to begin this upcoming fall, with more details about the release date and platform yet to be announced.

Lee Jun-ho and YoonA’s appearance in the film marks their first reunion since they co-hosted the 2021 MBC Gayo Daejeon music festival, where they also took to the stage to dance together to a cover of “Senorita” by Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes.
