Girls Golf: Watertown ties for eighth in Bill Scholten Invite at Brookings

BROOKINGS — Watertown High School's girls golf team shot 382 and tied for eighth out of 15 teams Thursday in the Bill Scholten Invitational at the Brookings Country Club.

Fifteen of the state's Class AA teams competed in the meet, played at the host site for the upcoming state tourney in June.

Aberdeen Central shot 322 and won by 11 shots over Sioux Falls O'Gorman and Mitchell. O'Gorman's Lauren Sutcliffe shot an even-par 72 and earned medalist honors by five shots.

Riley Zebroski shot an 80 and finished 11th to lead Watertown, which is slated to compete Tuesday in the Eastern South Dakota Conference tournament at Pierre.
