HILLSDALE, MI. — The Quincy Lady Orioles went on the road and came home with a big non-conference win Tuesday night, defeating the Hillsdale Lady Hornets by the score of 45-36.

Leading the way for Quincy was Deziray Skirka with 17 points, three assists, four rebounds and five steals.

Also adding to the Quincy victory was Danika Skirka with six points and six rebounds; Neha Jain with seven points and four rebounds; Alyssa McCavit with three points and 12 rebounds; Raigan Horsfall with four points; Grace Lindsley with five points; and Ella Dunn with three points.

“It was a big night tonight for us, playing against a Hillsdale team that played a lot more physical than we are used to seeing,” said Quincy head coach Jared Stuchell. “We played real well down the stretch to pull out the win after playing real sluggish in the first half.”

With the win Quincy improves to 6-9 overall on the season while Hillsdale falls to 3-13 overall. The Orioles will next see action Thursday when they travel to Springport.

Tekonsha falls to Colon in home battle

TEKONSHA, MI. — The Tekonsha Lady Indians dropped a tough SCAA home battle to the Colon Lady Magi Tuesday night, falling by the score of 62-14.

Colon controlled things from the start, outscoring the young Indians 24-2 in the first quarter and 16-4 in the second, building a 40-6 lead at the half. Tekonsha refused to quit and played until the final whistle but the night belonged to the Magi as Colon outscored Tekonsha 15-5 in the third quarter and 7-3 in the fourth quarter to find the final score of 62-14.

Tekonsha was led on the night by sophomore Reagan Henry who had eight points to go along with two rebounds and two assists.

Also adding to the Tekonsha effort was Addison Griffith with two points, two blocks and eight rebounds; Hailey Owens with two points, one assist and one rebound; Clara Wart with three rebounds; Abbey Wrobel with three rebounds and one assist; and Talia Stull with two points and five rebounds.

Colon saw nine different players score in the win, with two reaching double figures. Leading the way for the Magi was Reece Williams with 22 points while Megann Mullins added 13 points.

With the win the Colon Magi improve to 13-4 overall on the season and 8-1 in the SCAA. The Lady Magi will next see action Thursday when they travel to Athens.

Tekonsha meanwhile falls to 1-13 overall on the season and 1-9 in the SCAA. The Indians will next see action Thursday when they travel to Burr Oak.

Bronson falls on the road to Adrian Lenawee Christian, drops second game of season

ADRIAN, MI. — The Bronson Lady Vikings dropped just their second game of the 2022-23 season Tuesday night, falling to the Adrian Lenawee Christian Lady Cougars by the score of 59-52.

No stats were reported for the contest.

Bronson falls to 14-2 overall on the season and will be back in action Thursday when they host the Homer Trojans.
