Girls lacrosse players to watch for 2023

M Ava Arslanian, Sr., Kenston: The senior plays in the midfield but found her voice on the defensive side a tear ago. She finished with 12 takeaways and 33 groundballs a season ago but will need to be a threat on both ends of the field this season.

A Rylee Anderson, Sr., Lake Catholic: The Davis and Elkins signee leads the Cougars' attack. She finished with 114 goals and 53 assists last season, both in the top two for the coverage area. Also finished with 17 turnovers and 26 ground balls as an attacker

M Chloe Banno, Jr., Riverside: She inherits the lead role in the Beavers' attack this season, a year after she had 31 goals and nine assists.

M Alex Chinnici, Jr., Chagrin Falls: A strong midfielder with 30 goals and 28 assists a season ago. Her heroics in a state semifinal were huge, and she will need to be impactful early in the season, as well.

M Kiera Levine, Jr., Hawken: An all-around player for the young Hawks. Finished last season with 17 goals, 10 assists, 14 takeaways and 23 ground balls.

G Kiera Moran, Jr., Chagrin Falls: After her first season between the pipes, looks to improve on her second-team all-region selection. Had 104 saves a season ago for the state runners-up.

A Stella Parrish, Jr., Chardon: Took the reigns for Chardon in the attack with 44 goals. Also forced 32 ground balls and had nine takeaways to get shorter fields for the attack.

M Payton Platz, So., Chardon: Had a big freshman campaign all over the field with 40 goals, 17 assists, 18 takeaways and 38 ground balls, all of which were top 10 in the area. Was also good off the draw with 58 controls won.

D Elizabeth Rankin, Sr., Chagrin Falls: Will be tasked with leading the Tigers' defense. With a pair of sophomores in the defensive half, her leadership will be important early in the year

G Makenna Ricketts, Jr, Chardon: The Wittenberg commit looks to build on a big year as a sophomore. Finished last season with 129 saves.

M Grace Rowan, Sr., NDCL: Will be tasked with leading the Lions this season. Was solid on the attack a season ago with 20 goals and seven assists, while she forced 25 ground balls. Is a threat every time in the circle with 71 draws won.

D Alexa Udovicic, So., Lake Catholic: Found her voice on the defense as the season progressed with 10 takeaways and 33 ground balls. With her early experience from a season ago, will lead the team in that half of the field.
