GIRLS SOCCER: Lumberjacks held scoreless in 2-0 decision at Buffalo

Sep. 16—BUFFALO — The Bemidji High School girls soccer team fell into a first-half hole and couldn't counter, losing 2-0 in a Section 8-3A matchup at Buffalo on Thursday evening.

The Bison (2-2-3) netted a pair of goals in the first half. First, Leah Halderson broke open the scoring with the eventual game-winner in the 17th minute. Buffalo added an insurance goal in the 35th minute when Olivia Luc bagged the team's second.

The second half went scoreless, in part thanks to Morgan Myers tallying six saves for the Lumberjacks (2-3-1) during the frame. Kiera Nelson started in net for Bemidji and recorded one save.

On the other end of the field, Peyton Anderson had four saves for the Bison.

Bemidji will try to right the ship when it hosts Section 8-3A-leading Rogers at noon Saturday, Sept. 17, at Bemidji Middle School.
