Four Section V girls soccer teams traveled to Cortland for Saturday’s state soccer tournament semifinals, but just one moves on.

The Haverling girls are in Sunday’s Class B championship after a 1-0 win over Westhill of Section III. But Spencerport (Class A), Byron-Bergen (C) and Keshequa (D) all played their final matches of 2022.

Class A

New Hartford-III 1, Spencerport 1, NH advances on PKs (6-5)

The heart was there for Spencerport, but the finishes weren’t. Lindsay Lenhard’s goal with 10 minutes left in regulation was enough to buy extra time for the Rangers, but they eventually fell in the sixth round of penalty kicks to the defending state champs.

Willa Pratt gave New Hartford (23-0-1) the lead in the second half before Lenhard leveled the match. Spencerport got several looks late, even hitting the post and the crossbar in the final minutes.
