Penn, Lily Christianson dominate Northern Indiana Conference girls swim meet in Elkhart

ELKHART —The Penn girls swimming team dominated another Northern Indiana Conference meet and Lily Christianson was once again the star.

Christianson, the junior who set a state record in the 50-yard freestyle at last year's IHSAA state meet, set two new meet records Saturday at the Elkhart Aquatic Center in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard backstroke.

With Christianson leading the way, her teammates were there in support as Penn won nine of the 12 events including Anika Guenther's first-place finishes in the 200-Yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke. The Kingsmen also won all three relay events to help them win their third consecutive league meet and 26th in program history.

Here were the top-three finishers and final team scores from Saturday's NIC meet.
