GIRLS TENNIS: Lumberjacks can't knock off top seeds, end season in sections

Oct. 15—SARTELL — The 2022 season came to an end for the Bemidji High School girls tennis team on Saturday.

The Lumberjacks had two entrants to the Section 8AA Individual Tournament in Sartell, though neither came away with an upset against the No. 1 seeds of the South subsection.

In the doubles bracket, North No. 4 seed Darby Neis and Maddie Jensen lost 6-3, 6-2 to Ayla Brown and Dani Nuest of Becker in the first round.

And in singles play, North No. 4 seed Emily Dondeliger lost 6-0, 6-1 to Faith Simon of Annandale in the first round.

BHS also closed the team season on Friday,

losing 4-3 to Annandale in the semifinals

of the Section 8AA Team Tournament.
