Girls tennis roundup: LQPV/D-B tips Marshall, 4-3 and more

Aug. 27—MADISON — Sweeping doubles play — with two three-set victories — Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd pulled through with a 4-3 win over Marshall in non-conference girls tennis Friday.

At No. 1 doubles, LQPV/D-B's Claire Lowry and Kayla Jahn beat the Tigers' Cecily Aufenthie and Siri Christensen, 6-1, 5-7, 6-3. Then at No. 3 doubles, Taylen Jorgenson and Elsie Wiebe held on to beat Olivia Penske and Eliza Holmgren, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

Katelyn Wittnebel got LQPV/D-B's lone singles win. She beat Marshall's Regan Loft at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 7-5.

Maddie Matthies, Hannah Oie and Sadie Hacker all got singles wins for LQPV/D-B. In doubles, LQPV/D-B's No. 3 team of Taylen Jorgenson and Elsie Wiebe beat Izzy Glomstad and Bri Hicks, 6-0, 6-0. Claire Lowry and Kayla Jahn also picked up a win at No. 1 doubles.
