Giving back with BBQ: Sonny's hosts ABAC Pre-Vet Club fundraiser

Feb. 6—TIFTON — Sonny's BBQ and the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College pre-vet club are teaming up to give a little back to the Tift Animal Rescue Shelter.

Residents who dine at Sonny's Feb. 8 will have the chance to support the shelter, courtesy of a fundraiser hosted by the pre-vet club.

Should customers mention to their server that they would be interested in supporting the fundraiser, 20% of their meal cost will be donated to the animal shelter, said Jennifer Harper, pre-vet club advisor.

"Anything raised is really going to benefit the organization," Harper said. "They really try to be a no-kill shelter, so we love the idea that they are using all those funds to help maintain the lives of those animals, and the quality of lives for those animals."

Harper also stated people interested in participating in the fundraiser would be able to donate through call-in and pickup orders as well as sit-down meals.

The animal rescue fundraiser is scheduled 11 a.m.-9 p.m., Feb. 8.
