Giving Tuesday: A Heartfelt Message from BCOC’s CEO as Give A Christmas drive continues

As the holiday season approaches, our hearts are filled with gratitude and a sense of community. In the spirit of giving, we find ourselves reflecting on the incredible support we have received from our Bucks County community throughout the year and especially during the Give A Christmas campaign.

This week for Giving Tuesday, I am honored to share a few words on behalf of the Bucks County Opportunity Council as its CEO.

Giving Tuesday is more than just a day; it's a movement that transcends borders, bringing people together to make a positive impact on the world. It's a day where the power of generosity unites us, reminding us of the strength that lies in our collective ability to create change.

At BCOC, we have been privileged to witness the transformative effects of generosity every day. Whether it's providing rental assistance to prevent eviction, supporting educational goals that lead to economic mobility, or addressing transportation challenges through our Wheelz2Work program, the support we receive from our community allows us to amplify our impact and work towards a brighter future for all.

Last year you helped us exceed our goal of $165,000, which allowed us to help 534 families with holiday gift cards, eviction prevention, utility assistance, and many other basic needs. We are aiming to meet the same goal this year, and every dollar counts.

As we navigate the complexities of our world, it becomes increasingly evident that the need for compassion and kindness knows no bounds. This Giving Tuesday, I encourage each of you to consider the profound impact your contributions to the Give A Christmas program can have.

Your support is not just a donation; it's a beacon of hope, a lifeline for those in need, and a testament to the incredible things we can achieve when we come together.

Even better, now through the end of November your donation can be doubled through a campaign with First Commonwealth Bank called Share the Warmth. Simply check the box on our website to include your donation in the campaign or if paying by check, write Share the Warmth in the memo line. The bank is matching up to $100,000 this year!

I want to express my deepest gratitude to our donors, volunteers, and supporters who have been the driving force behind BCOC's mission. Your commitment has enabled us to reach new heights and touch the lives of countless individuals. Each dollar donated, each hour volunteered, and each voice raised in support contributes to a collective force for good to move people out of poverty and towards economic mobility.

Give A Christmas: Requests for help up as Bucks County families continue to struggle

As we embark on this day of giving, let us remember that generosity knows no limits. Whether you choose to contribute financially, donate your time, or simply spread the word about a cause dear to your heart, know that your actions matter. Together, we can create a ripple effect of positive change that extends far beyond this one day.

Thank you for being an integral part of our journey. Your generosity is not only appreciated; it is a driving force that propels us forward in our mission to reduce poverty and partner with our community to promote economic self-sufficiency.

Wishing you a joyous and fulfilling Giving Tuesday.
