Giving Tuesday: A list of Tarrant County charities that would appreciate your generosity
Doing good is what today is all about.
Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a way for people to give, and “this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity,” according to givingtuesday.org.
The idea is to have the mind for generosity. Giving Tuesday occurs, well, every Tuesday. But the annual celebration of giving is today, Tuesday, Nov. 29.
“Giving Tuesday recognizes that we each can drive an enormous amount of positive change by rooting our everyday actions, decisions and behavior in radical generosity — the concept that the suffering of others should be as intolerable to us as our own suffering,” says a statement on givingtuesday.org. Radical generosity invites people to give what they can to create systemic change.”
If you are looking for a place to give, here are a few local charities that serve Tarrant County and the Metroplex with a variety of services. Each section features a statement from each charity.
