Glass City Browns Backers hold Celebrity Golf Outing

The Glass City Browns Backers held its second annual Celebrity Golf Outing at Valley View Golf Course last weekend. The winning team included, from left to right: Felix Wright, Tyler Russell, Jarret Daniels, Matt Farus, Kevin Mack, Casey Hazen and Hanford Dixon. They received the “Golden Chicken” award along with a gift basket of various items donated by Roosters.

LANCASTER — Last weekend, former NFL players Bobby Carpenter, Hanford Dixon, Felix Wright and Kevin Mack participated in the second annual Glass City Browns Backers Celebrity Golf Outing at Valley View Golf Course.

The Glass City Browns Backers is a chartered fan-based group for the Cleveland Browns. The local group has nearly 250 members who meet to support their team and find unique ways to give back to the community.

Donations and participation in the golf outing went to the Lancaster Parks and Recreation to help the Lancaster Youth Football program. The donations will be used to help with field maintenance and possibly a new scoreboard.

Additionally, scholarships will be awarded to the top graduating high school senior boy and girl who has achieved a level of sports excellence, leadership, school attendance and grade point average. The goal is to raise $10,000 this year through various events.
