Glass show glimmers at Civic Center

Jul. 23—MARIETTA — Visitors gathered at the Cobb County Civic Center this weekend to enjoy the art of the Depression Glass Show, put on by The Peach State's Depression Glass Club.

Hosted annually by the club, the Depression Glass Show features collections from many different vendors and collectors, as well as offering glass identification services and glass repairs. The show also saw demonstrations by Charles Wells, a glass-blowing instructor at Georgia Southwestern State University. The program at the Americus-based school is billed as the only program of its kind in the state.

All proceeds from the two-day event go toward scholarships for the glass-blowing program at Georgia Southwestern State University.
