Glen Rock Middle School Shifts To Remote Amid Staffing Shortage
GLEN ROCK, NJ — Glen Rock Middle School will shift to remote learning as the building faces a staff shortage after "numerous" staff members were exposed to the coronavirus, according to district officials.
In a letter from Superintendent of Schools Brett Charleston, the decision to pause in-person learning was made Monday, with remote learning slated to continue until Jan. 29. According to Charleston, in-person learning should resume Feb. 1.
According to Charleston, this decision doesn't impact any other schools in the district, but officials are monitoring the worsening coronavirus situation in the state.
"The Board of Education is committed to keeping schools open through January 22nd unless circumstances dictate otherwise, such as changes in the CALI score, NJDOH guidance or our ability to properly staff the schools," wrote Charleston, in an earlier letter.
A decision is expected Thursday regarding the learning environment next week, according to Charleston, as officials considers whether to take the entire district virtual.
