Wadley was initially hired as the strength and conditioning coach in January of 2021.  He did not return a call from the Gadsden Times for comment.

Glencoe went 1-9 last season and will be seeking its fourth coach since Lee Ozmint led the team to a 9-2 mark and the second round of the playoffs in 2015.

Tinker said the search for a new coach would begin immediately.

"I am going to take my time and hopefully find the right one," Tinker said.

Glencoe is scheduled to begin its season on the road against Weaver on Aug. 26.

It is the second Etowah County football coaching position that opened up this week. Gene Hill stepped down as the Sardis football coach after 11 years.
