Glencoe football: Scott Martin hired as third football coach since start of 2021 season

The Glencoe football program has found its next head coach.

The Yellow Jackets have hired Scott Martin to be the third coach since the beginning of the 2021 season.

Martin announced the hiring on his Facebook page, as did Glencoe High School.

Jamison Wadley, who took over as the interim coach and was promoted to full-time coach in November, was out of the job late last week.

Martin brings a 164-138 overall record in 28 years. He has a 83-42 record in Alabama, with stops at Calera (2009-10), Hillcrest Tuscaloosa (2012-13) and Ohatchee (2014-21).

Ohatchee reached the playoffs each season from 2015-20 under Martin, including a semifinal appearance in 2016. Ohatchee also made the playoffs following Martin's departure in 2021.

The Yellow Jackets went 1-7 under Wadley after he took over following the resignation of Brian Alred in September.
