Glenn Close makes a splash at Sundance in $2,265 tie-dye cashmere sweater

Glenn Close made a splash at Sundance on Saturday with a statement-making sweater that we wish we could afford.

The Academy Award-nominated actress made the rounds at the film festival in Park City along with the cast, crew and producers of her latest film, Four Good Days, co-starring Mila Kunis, in which Close plays the mother of Kunis' drug-addicted character who needs help staying sober.

During Close's panel at Chase Sapphire on Main alongside Kunis, director Rodrigo García and a couple of the film's producers, the 72-year-old acting icon stood out amongst the muted palette of snow-ready Sundance ensembles in a rainbow tie-dye sweater with the words "WILD CARD" written in black on the front.

Turns out, the sweater is made by the Elder Statesman, with the cashmere top retailing for a cool $2,265 (it's available on Net-a-Porter, if you're so inclined).

While budget constraints will prevent us from adding this attention-grabbing number to our closets, we'll always have "wild card" Glenn Close rocking the sweater at this year's Sundance Film Festival, and that's good enough for us.

During the panel, the actress paid tribute to Robert Redford for his work in building the film festival into the world-famous celebration of independent filmmaking that it's become today.

"To be here with this creative group showing our film [and] hoping someone will pick it up — that is the absolute essence of Sundance," Close said towards the end of the Los Angeles Times-hosted panel. "And I'm very proud to be here."
