The Globe-News awards the 2022 Best of Amarillo

The Amarillo Globe-News presented the official community choice awards with its 2022 Best of Amarillo event, held Friday night in the Amarillo Civic Center Heritage Hall.

During the event, host Eric Fow, Senior Regional Sales Leader for Local IQ of Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Mississippi and publisher of the Amarillo Magazine, and emcee Miss Texas Averie Bishop presented the 203 category finalists and awards to the hundreds of individuals in attendance.

"It is an amazing honor to be named the Best Of this year. Being a salesperson, I know that each finalist takes this award and recognition seriously, and I know the competition is fierce. And I hope everyone walks away, knowing that this is something to be proud of," Fow said during the event.

Among those awarded during the ceremony, Amarillo National Bank received a total of eight Best of Amarillo awards, including five awards in the finance bracket, two awards in services and the 2022 Amarillo Best Place to Work in the Top Employers bracket.

"These awards mean the world to us. It's a tremendous honor, and we know these awards are not just handed out. It is extremely competitive, and people at this event are all the best of the best. So, just being here is an honor, and we thank the community for considering us," said William Ware, ANB president.

Ware added that the awards give him and the company momentum to continue serving the community in the best manner possible, and he looks forward to possibly continuing the winning streak next year.

"We love to win this every year. We don't take it for granted, and we will continue to work as hard as possible to continue being in the running. And if we win, that would be wonderful," Ware said.

This event was the first in-person Best of Amarillo awards ceremony since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was seen by the crowd of more than 300 individuals, reaching record-breaking attendance.

After all awards had been presented, Fow commented on the community representation at the event, stating: "Out of the 203 winners that were awarded tonight, there were so many here that came up to receive these awards, which says something about this community and how much you care."

"I say everyone here in this room tonight is leaving a winner. For those that might not have received an award, you were still chosen top three by the community in a place where there are so many options and votes. Congratulations to everyone; they should all feel very proud of themselves," Fow added.
