Glynn County Police arrest suspect in stabbings following a fight on Wylly Ave.

Glynn County Police Department Officers responded to a call about a fight on February 28, 2023, at 3702 Wylly Ave.

GCPD reported that when officers arrived, everyone had already dispersed from the area. Shortly after, the Southeast Georgia Health System contacted GCPD regarding two stabbing victims.

The victim, Taja Brown, a 34-year-old, was being treated for stab wounds, while Jaqauzi Jones, a 19-year-old, arrived at the emergency room with a non-life-threatening stab wound to the hand.

As a result of the investigation, Marlieyah Grovner, a 23-year-old, was arrested and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and one count of Affray.

Detectives reported that both victims were involved in the fight that had occurred earlier.

Further investigation into the incident is still ongoing. Authorities have asked anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward and contact Inv. Ricky Hall (912) 279-2914 or Silent Witness at 912-264-1333.

While no motive has been determined yet, detectives are working to piece together what happened and what led to the fight and subsequent stabbings.
