GM Marc Eversley will represent Chicago Bulls at the virtual NBA draft lottery

Chicago Bulls general manager Marc Eversley will represent the team at the virtual NBA draft lottery Tuesday, stepping in for Executive Vice President Artūras Karnišovas, according to NBC Sports Chicago.

Karnišovas was behind the podium for the Bulls last season when the team landed the No. 4 pick. That selection was used on Florida State forward Patrick Williams, who played an integral role last season as he averaged 9.2 points and 4.6 rebounds in the 2020-21 season.

The Bulls will have tougher odds this time. The team traded its first-round selection to the Orlando Magic in March to secure center Nikola Vučević.

The pick, which is top-four protected, could come back to the Bulls if they outperform their odds. The Bulls have a 4.5% chance of landing the No. 1 pick. They will need just as much luck to land in the top four, as their odds of drafting at No. 4 are 20.3%.

History could be on the Bulls’ side, however. They landed the No. 1 pick in 2008 despite having a 1.7% chance to do so and used it to draft Derrick Rose.

The Bulls also will have the 38th overall pick in the second round.
