GMB's Susanna Reid rejects hug from co-star Adil Ray

Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid turned down a hug from Adil Ray live on air today (May 17).
It all unravelled after Dr Hilary Jones advised viewers on how to stay safe whilst engaging in a hug, with Susanna's co-star Adil standing up and encouraging her to give it a go with him.
"Come on, I haven't seen you in such a long time!" he jokingly pleaded.

Uncertain, Susanna replied: "What did Dr Hilary say? I am still in the mood for a virtual hug!"
She then went on to declare she was actually "protecting" Adil, noting: "If we ration our hugs that means we can hug at more important times. Ration your hugs. I'm saving mine for my mum and dad, sorry Adil."
If you're interested in what the show's general practitioner advised on safely hugging earlier in the episode, Dr Hilary said: "Ask them if they want to hug, get consent first, and then by all means hug, but I would still wear a mask.

"I would turn your head away and not talk to them whilst you're hugging them, because it's aerosol contact."
