GMUG finishing Cow Creek prescribed burn

GATEWAY, Colo. (KREX) — GMUG Fire personnel are working on the prescribed Cow Creek Fire near Gateway, Colorado.

This Wednesday, crews will work to secure a perimeter and address final burning locations for the first stage of the prescribed burn. The burn is about 9 miles east of Gateway and 25 miles southwest of Grand Junction.

Firefighters advise smoke may be visible in the area surrounding the fire and advise the public not to call 911 for smoke related to the Cow Creek Fire.
