'God Save the Queen': Crowd Cheers After Queen Elizabeth Appears on Buckingham Palace Balcony

Queen Elizabeth II and other members of the British Royal Family made an appearance on a balcony at Buckingham Palace on Sunday, June 5, as crowds took part in the final day of Platinum Jubilee celebrations in the United Kingdom.

The 96-year-old monarch stood aside the next generations of her family: Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall; Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge; and the couple’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

This video, taken by Rachel Brown outside Buckingham Palace, shows crowds cheering and singing “God Save the Queen.”

In a statement released by the royal family, the Queen said she was “humbled and deeply touched that so many people have taken to the streets to celebrate my platinum jubilee.”

“While I may not have attended every event in person, my heart has been with you all,” wrote the Queen. “I remain committed to serving you to the best of my ability, supported by my family.” Credit: Rachel Brown via Storyful
