GoFundMe account created for uncle, 4-year-old nephew killed in rural Fresno County crash

A GoFundMe account has been created for the uncle and his 4-year-old nephew who were victims of a fatal, two-car crash in rural Fresno County.

Adrián González, 27, of Fresno and Enrique “Ricky” Flores, 4 of Del Rey, were killed Friday, Sept. 1 in a collision just before 8 a.m. at Jefferson and Bethel avenues near Del Rey.

The GoFundMe account aims to raise $10,000 for funeral expenses for González and Flores.

According to the GoFundMe account, González was driving his nephew Ricky to school when the vehicle they were traveling in, a Honda sedan, was involved in an accident with a Chevrolet Suburban. The crash took both of their lives and injured the passengers of the Suburban.

According to the CHP, both vehicles ended up in an orchard to the east of the intersection. González and Flores were pronounced dead at the scene.

Neira Herrera, who organized the fundraiser, wrote that both “were so full of love and life and had many more years left to live and thrive in before they were taken from us.”

González was described as “a dedicated father who loved his family dearly and worked and sacrificed so much in order to see his family flourish” taking on many responsibilities in the name of family.

González, who loved football and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, “enjoyed being with family, friends, and the love of his life while just cracking jokes and having fun with the ones he loved,” according to GoFundMe.

Ricky was described as “an energetic boy who, just like his father, loved spending time with his family and just having a good time. Running all around the house like one of his favorite characters, Sonic, he loved eating candy and sweets and enjoying the silly things that a little boy his age would have loved.”

“Thank you all for any help you can provide. We love you Adrián and Ricky, may you both rest in eternal tranquility and peace,” Herrera wrote.
