Gogglebox viewers once again saddened about a popular family being split on the show.

The show is meeting new standards for the pandemic by instituting new methods of filming its episodes, including some cast members noticeably socially distancing from one another on camera.

It's not entirely clear whether Ellie and Izzi Warner were abiding by health standards for this Friday's (April 3) episode on Channel 4, but unfortunately, they weren't together as usual.

Izzi missed this week's episode entirely, while her sister was joined by her partner Nat to comment on some of the week's telly — including The Nest, Jamie Oliver's new self-quarantine cooking show, The Celebrity Bake Off and some heart-wrenching COVID-19 news coverage that brought fellow cast member Mary Killen to tears.

Many viewers seemed to like Nat's self-assured sense of humour, but they were still missing the sibling comedy that has become such a fixture of Gogglebox over the years.

"Aww it’s so weird not seeing Ellie and Izzy," one viewer tweeted, while another added: "Aw, I'm really missing the Ellie/Izzi duo on #Gogglebox tonight.)

Below are a range of reactions to the sibling split-up:

For the second week in a row, cast member Sid Siddiqui announced that he also would be missing alongside his sons on Gogglebox in order to abide social distancing rules.

"I am sorry I will be missing from the Siddiqui sofa again in tonight’s #Gogglebox because of 2 meter social distancing rule but I am sure you will be entertained just as much by the rest of the gang enjoy the show take care be safe lots of love," he wrote before Friday's show.

Gogglebox will continue next Friday (April 3) at 9pm on Channel 4.
