Gogglebox spoilers follow.

Gogglebox has paid tribute to the Malones' beloved family dog, Dave, with a final moment of chaos.

Earlier this week, Julie Malone announced in a heartbreaking Instagram post that the famous Rottweiler had passed away.

Tonight's (October 20) episode opened with a touching send-off to Dave, showing the dog doing what he was best known for: causing havoc in the Malones' living room.

In the clip, Sean Malone could be seen waving a ball in front of the dog's face, leading to Dave jumping on dad Tom's lap before knocking over his drink.

"Ow, god.. My drink!" Tom said, writhing in pain, while the rest of the family laughed. "Look at the remote! he's drenched it," Sean added.

Fans were quick to respond to the clip, sharing their own tributes to Dave on Twitter/X.

"Awww opening the show with Dave. RIP you legendary doggo," one person wrote.

"Awww starting #Gogglebox with a bit of Dave. RIP to the best boy!" a second fan tweeted, while a third added: "Is this the last Episode with Dave?"

Dave had been a breakout star of Gogglebox, regularly stealing the show each time he appeared on screen alongside the Malones.

Elsewhere in tonight's episode — which saw the armchair critics react to episodes of Coronation Street, Married at First Sight and Welcome to Wrexham — there was confusion in Caerphilly as Shirley pronounced the wine Pinot Grigio as "Pinot de Janeiro".

"Pinot de Janeiro, or whatever you call it," Shirley said while chatting to her husband Dave, who replied: "Pinot what? It's Pinot Grigio."

"No wonder I couldn't find it at Asda!" she responded, adding that she'd been searching up and down the supermarket for the wine. "That's what I was looking for!"

Gogglebox airs and streams on Friday nights at 9pm on Channel 4.
