Going to 'College GameDay' at the University of Tennessee? Here's a guide

Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit and the rest of the ESPN "College GameDay" crew are coming back to Knoxville for the first time in six years to preview the highly anticipated matchup between the No. 12 Vols and the No. 22 Gators.

The traveling football analysis show is setting up shop on the Ayers Hall Lawn on The Hill, getting ready for hundreds of rowdy fans to show their signs and cheer (or boo) on Corso's famous mascot headgear pick.

If you're planning to wake up early and be among those screaming fans on live TV from Rocky Top, here's what you need to know. The show will air from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

What time should I arrive for ESPN's "College GameDay"?

If you want to make it on TV, you're going to have to get in "the pit."

The "GameDay" pit opens at 6:30 a.m. and fans are admitted on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you want to ensure you get in, you probably want to get there sooner rather than later.

What can I bring to the "GameDay" pit?

"College GameDay" prohibits the following items:

  • Bags of any kind

  • Food and drinks

  • Pens, pencils and markers

  • Dry-erase boards

  • Signs on sticks

What can my "College GameDay" sign say?

Fun, witty signs are a "GameDay" tradition, so get creative! However, the show does have some guidelines.

Signs with vulgar, political and religious language are not allowed, as well as .com or .net internet addresses. Signs that are on poles or are oversized are not allowed.

All signs will be inspected before being allowed on live TV.

So while you may have some choice words for the Gators, you should just keep those to yourself. But stoking the rivalry is definitely allowed.

Can I watch ESPN's "College GameDay" on TV?

Chesney appeared on the show as the guest game picker of the week.

If you can't make it in person, you can still catch the broadcast. The show will air from 9 a.m. to noon on ESPN, ESPNU and can be streamed on the ESPN app.

If you want to watch the pre-pre-game show, "Countdown to College GameDay" will air at 8:30 a.m. and can be watched on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and the ESPN App.
