The Kansas City Royals are celebrating Lorenzo Cain’s MLB career on Saturday.

The outfielder, who was a part of the team’s 2015 World Series victory squad, will sign a one-day contract and officially retire with the Royals.

The game starts at 6:10 p.m. Saturday, but Cain’s ceremony takes place before the first pitch.

A representative from The Royals told The Star that fans should plan to be in their seats by 5:40 p.m. to guarantee they won’t miss the celebration.

Former manager Ned Yost, player Alex Gordon and first base coach Rusty Kuntz will all be part of the ceremony, according to the Royals. They were all on the World Series-winning team.

The team representative added that the first pitch will be “very unique” but didn’t give away more details than that.

If you’re headed to Kauffman Stadium on Saturday, here’s what you need to know.

HOW TO GET TICKETS

A representative for the Royals said they’ve sold close to 26,000 tickets for Saturday’s game. It’s the closest they’ve gotten to selling out the stadium since Opening Day on March 30, when it was sold out.

Tickets are available through the Royals’ official website or the MLB Ballpark app. The cheapest ticket costs $28, while the most expensive ticket costs $471. Prices do fluctuate depending on the demand.

WHERE TO PARK

The Royals charge $20 for general parking, $30 for premium spots and $40 for oversized vehicles for each game at the Truman Sports Complex. Buy your parking passes here. Your pass will need to be purchased before arriving at the tollgates.

The gates for Kauffman Stadium open at 4:30 p.m., so the Royals recommend you get there early. A representative with the team said the ceremony is something you don’t want to miss.

Some fans experienced issues getting to the stadium during Opening Day because of construction in the area and an overturned semi-truck that closed from northbound U.S. 71 to Interstate 70 going westbound, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.

No construction is happening near Kauffman Stadium this time, but the team wants visitors to get there as early as possible to avoid inconveniences.

For future games, construction starts on May 8 on the Blue Ridge Boulevard bridge over I-70.
