"Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" won't go away.

The Netflix series about the Milwaukee serial killer — with more than 1 billion hours streamed, already one of the service's most popular series ever — was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards Monday in the limited series/motion picture category, including best actor for Evan Peters as Dahmer; best supporting actress for Niecy Nash as Glenda Cleveland, the Milwaukee woman who was frustrated repeatedly in her efforts to get the police to investigate Dahmer; best supporting actor for Richard Jenkins as Dahmer's father, Lionel; and for best limited series, anthology series or motion picture made for television.

Niecy Nash plays Glenda Cleveland, the Milwaukee woman who tried to get police to investigate her neighbor, Jeffrey Dahmer, in the new Netflix series "Dahmer. Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story."

Other Golden Globe nominees with Wisconsin connections announced Monday include:

  • Nicolet High School grad Justin Hurwitz, who was nominated for best original score for the music for "Babylon." (Hurwitz won two Oscars, including for original score, and a Golden Globe for original score for the 2016 musical "La La Land, which like "Babylon" was directed by longtime collaborator Damien Chazelle. He also won a Golden Globe for the score for "First Man," also directed by Chazelle.)

Justin Hurwitz, shown accepting the Golden Globe for best original score for "First Man" in 2020, is nominated in the same category this year for "Babylon."

  • Carey Mulligan, who was nominated for best supporting actress in a motion picture for "She Said," in which she plays former Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Megan Twohey, one of two New York Times reporters who persistently pursue the story of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein's history of sexual harassment and the bubble of silence the industry kept around it.

"The Banshees of Inisherin" led the Golden Globes field with eight nominations. Other top nominees in the Globes' movie category included "Everything Everywhere All at Once" with six, and "Babylon" with five.

"Abbott Elementary" topped the nominations leader board in the TV categories with five nominations. "Dahmer," "The Crown," "Only Murders in the Building," "Pam & Tommy" and "The White Lotus" each had four.

The 80th annual Golden Globes ceremony will air live on Jan. 10 on NBC and the Peacock streaming service.
