Golf tournaments coming up in Clovis, Portales and Farwell

May 27—Summer means golf for many across eastern New Mexico. Here's a look at some tournaments coming up in Portales, Clovis, and Farwell.

The Portales Country Club kicked off its first tournament of the season in early May, but there are still plenty of opportunities to hit the green this summer.

— A tournament for members and guests is scheduled June 10-11

— Hit the Green 4 Man Scramble is June 24

— A couples only tournament is July 8-9

— The 2 Men/1 Women tournament is July 30

— The Stone Invitational is Aug. 12-13

— The Ladies Scramble is Sept. 9

In Clovis, Thursday Night Scrambles are back at the Colonial Park Golf Course. It's $35 a person, cash only, and it's suggested to sign up early due to a limited number of teams each week. Of course, there's more going on this summer.

— The Texico Youth Sports Association Scramble is scheduled June 17. Registration is $400 a team. All proceeds go toward the 2023-2024 Texico Youth Sports Association season.

— The Wolverine Classic 4 Person Scramble is July 15. Team entry is $300, and all proceeds for this tournament will go to the Texico football and golf programs.

— The Stateline Shootout is July 28-30. Registration is $700 a team.

In Farwell, Tuesday Night Scrambles are back starting at 6:30 p.m. CDT. A cart is $10 and there's a green fee of $12. Here's what else to expect at this course:

— The Farwell Athletic Booster Club Golf Tournament is set for June 14. A $300 donation is asked for each four-person team. All proceeds will go to the Farwell Booster Club.

— The third annual Birdies for Babies tournament is June 22. The theme this year is "Join us for a fiesta on the fairway." There is a $500 team entry fee, and golf swag and prizes are to be expected.

— The Tyler Fontenot Memorial Golf Scramble is June 24. It's an 18-hole, four-person scramble, with a fee of $80 per person. Lunch will be served, and organizers ask that those playing wear lime green or "something crazy."

— The Border Town Shootout is July 8-9. There is a $350 team fee, and lunch will be provided each day.
