GOLF: Travis finishes 41st at Kentucky State Amateur Championship

Jun. 18—Seven players from Madison County participated in the 108th Kentucky Amateur Championship, presented by Clark's Pump-N-Shop.

The event was held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Indian Hill Country Club in Bowling Green.

Richmond's Cameron Travis shot rounds of 70, 74 and 74 and tied for 41st. He finished with a total score of +5, 218.

Mason Hamrick shot a +10, 223 and tied for 65th. He had rounds of 75, 73 and 75.

Richmond's Francesco Guarneri finished tied 72nd with a total score of +11, 224. He fired rounds of 77, 71 and 76.

Four other Madison County golfers did not make the cut, which came after the second round.

Camden Robinson shot a +14. Benjamin Cirgin and Gavin McKune both finished at +15 and Cooper Eberle shot a +16 through two rounds.

Matthew Troutman took the individual title, winning on the second hole of a four-person playoff. Six players held the lead on the final day of the tournament.

Troutman won the Kentucky High School Boys State Championship last fall and on Thursday became the youngest person to ever win the Kentucky State Amateur.
