The Learning Resource Center will hold Paint & Pour 2022, an in-person or virtual painting workshop, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at The Well, 114 E. Parker St., Lakeland. Complimentary valet parking provided. Paint & Pour benefits LRC and scholarships for LRC students. Polk County artist David Collins will lead participants in a  paint-along lesson. Two local artists, Aaron Corbitt and Gillian Fazio, will share their expertise and experience. Painting supplies are provided, as well as a catered charcuterie board by Sabrina’s Delicacies and a bottle of wine from a California vineyard. Reservations are required. Tickets are $100 single, $150 couple and $250 deluxe couple. Purchase at lrcpolk.com. The Learning Resource Center of Polk County is a nonprofit, United Way educational provider.

DROP-OFF SITES OPEN FOR OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

More than 4,500 locations will open to collect Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts  - filled with school supplies, hygiene items and fun toys - for the Samaritan’s Purse project. Volunteers will collect shoebox gifts during National Collection Week, Nov. 14-21. The project partners with local churches across the globe to deliver these shoebox gifts to children in need. County Road 540A, Lakeland; First Baptist Church of Mulberry, 300 NE First Ave.; First Baptist Church Bartow, 410 E. Church St.; Plant City Church of God, 2103 Mud Lake Road; First Baptist Church Polk City, 212 Hamolia Ave.; Christ Community Church, 1895 Overlook Drive, Winter Haven; NorthRidge Church, 2250 S. State Road 17, Haines City; First Baptist Church Lake Wales, 338 E. Central Ave. Operation Christmas Child has been collecting and delivering shoebox gifts to children worldwide since 1993. In 2022, Operation Christmas Child hopes to collect enough shoeboxes to reach 11 million children.
