VOLUNTEERS FOR RED RIBBON RUN 

Volunteers are needed to assist the InnerAct Alliance’s annual Red Ribbon Run planned for Oct. 29 at Frances Langford Promenade at Lake Mirror in Lakeland. The Red Ribbon Run features a free Kids Fun Run for students in grades K-8 along with a Family Fun Run and Fitness Fun Zone to support prevention of substance abuse and bullying.   The Red Ribbon Run brings together over 1,500 run participants, volunteers, local business partners, and spectators.  High school students can earn community service hours for the entire day. College students, businesses, and other organizations are also encouraged to volunteer for a team bonding experience. Free breakfast, T-shirt and snacks are provided. EMERGE LAKELAND ANNUAL GALA

EMERGE Lakeland's Annual Gala will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 3 at  Fresco’s Speakeasy, 132 S. Kentucky Ave., Lakeland. Enjoy a night of glitz, glamour, giveaways and casino-themed entertainment featuring a cocktail reception with a cash bar. The 2023 EMERGE Chair will be announced and EMERGE awards will be presented. Early Bird ticket pricing, $65 single ticket, $120 two people, ends Oct. 13 and can be purchased on EMERGE’s website, emergelakeland.org. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to benefit the Parker Street Ministries Christmas Store.
