The Doggie Bag is having a Wag Your "Tail"gate Party benefiting Until Such Time Rescue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 22 at the The Doggie Bag Back Yard, 1702 E. Edgewood Drive, Lakeland.

Who's going to win the game: Tampa Bay Buccaneers or  Carolina Panthers? The Doggie Bag is letting the dogs decide. For $5 a lick, your pup picks the winning team. The winning pup gets a furtabulous gift basket from The Doggie Bag, valued at more than $250. All proceeds benefit Until Such Time Rescue. Adoptable dogs will be onsite for meet-and-greets.

What's a tailgating party without food? Remigio's Authentic Mexican Food Truck will be onsite selling tacos, tortas and gorditas. Alex from KOHA Pet Foods will have free samples and goodies. For more information, call 863-683-6220.

BETSYE KAY FINCH GALA FOR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

The Betsye Kay Finch Performing Arts Foundation's Second Annual Gala takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Junior League Building, 90 Lake Morton Drive, Lakeland.

“A Touch of Broadway: Act II” is a musical fundraiser with dance, songs, drinks and hors d’oeuvres. This evening of Broadway dance and songs includes a performance by Theatre Winter Haven Academy members who will perform a song from Disney's ''Moana Jr.''; Lakeland’s Highland School of Dance, singers Ashleigh Christian-Massey and Rebecca Renfroe-Borneman. A special guest performance by two former Radio City Music Hall Rockettes, Karyn Tomczak and Kelly Croteau, will pay homage to Betsye Kay Finch, the foundation’s namesake, who danced briefly as a Rockette in the mid-1940s and then taught in  Lakeland for many years.

The foundation raises college scholarship funds for Polk County high school seniors aspiring for a dance or musical theater career. Order tickets, $50 per person, at www.bkfperformingarts.org/fundraiser.
