After a long day who wants to cook when you can find a ton of tasty local food options here in North Jersey. Like almost everything else in the Garden State, finding something on the cheaper side can be difficult. But have no fear because we put together a great list of eateries that have cheap menu options and delicious food. Come explore some of our favorite places to eat that won't hurt your wallet.

El Provocon Restaurant, Paterson

This joint gives you a taste of some classic Spanish dishes done in their own unique way. Their menu consists of traditional dishes like arroz con pollo (chicken with rice), res guisada (beef stew) and bistec encebollado (steak with onions). You can try their signature mofongo, a famous Puerto Rican dish. They also have a wide selection of seafood options. Leave some room for dessert so you can try their signature flan and tres leches cake. They have plenty of affordable dishes that range anywhere between $8-$18.

A Taco Affair, Little Falls

Who doesn't love tacos. But what about gourmet tacos?

This special place has a unique selection of tacos with all types of ingredients. Of course there is your usual ground beef and marinated pork, but you can also find some tasty out of the ordinary foods inside the corn tortilla such as crab cake, soy tofu, jerk chicken and Cajun popcorn shrimp. Almost all of the tacos are $5 so why not have three to make it a satisfying meal. They also have churros and ice cream for dessert.

No matter the time of year, a nice classic cheeseburger can always satisfy your cravings. There are so many different burgers here with a large selection of toppings. Grab a classic double cheeseburger or select one of their many specialty burgers such as The Jersey Burger that comes with cheese, a fried onion, lettuce and tomato. They also have hot dogs for under $5 and a famous Philly cheesesteak for $11.

Enjoy some exquisite Greek dishes from chef George Georgiades who has experience serving food at the high-end restaurant, Varka. This eatery is like Greek's version of Chipotle, where you can make your own bowl. You can choose your base (pita, rice or salad), your protein (chicken, shrimp, lamb and even octopus), and finally select two unique salads or vegetables as your side. Chicken Galore, Fair Lawn

The critically acclaimed Chicken Galore is sure to get your mouth watering with excitement. This joint has owned up to its high status as it was voted the No. 1 fried chicken restaurant in New Jersey by the Food Network. Chicken Galore has plenty of catering options if you are looking to host a big office party but they also have some smaller, more affordable selections on their menu. Their chicken dinner serves four pieces with a side of French fries and a buttered roll for $12. Or you can feed the whole family with a 12 piece chicken special that serves three to four people for $34. Whether you want a bucket or something smaller this place will not disappoint.

Ted's Deli, Rochelle Park, Paramus

North Jersey is filled with some of the best delis available but this one stands out. Whether you want a signature bacon, egg and cheese for breakfast or an American chicken sandwich for lunch, Ted's is the spot. They have a great variety of hot and cold sandwiches such as The Godfather (thinly sliced roast beef and melted mozzarella cheese with gravy on a hero for $10.95) or The Sloppy Ted (hot pastrami and swiss cheese on rye bread with coleslaw dressings for $10.50). They also serve soups, salads, wraps and some classic chicken fingers and fries.
