ABC’s Good Morning America viewers were treated to a bachelorette party on Wednesday for one of the show’s longtime anchors.

As Robin Roberts and her fiancée Amber Laign prepare for their upcoming wedding next month, they were treated to a Key West-inspired tropical party in the show’s Times Square studios in New York.

People reports that a few of the couple’s closest friends and family members attended the celebration.

“As you can see, we have decked out our set for Robin and Amber’s bachelorette party. They have not seen anything yet,” Lara Spencer remarked before Laign and Roberts came forward.

“Let’s get them out here. Robin and Amber, please come check it out. We know that Key West is your happy place, so we threw a party with a beach theme,” actress Niecey Nash-Betts exclaimed.

Food Network host Carla Hall, ABC News fixtures Deborah Roberts, Diane Sawyer, Gayle King, Juju Chang, and Roberts’ sister Sally-Ann Roberts all joined to help honor the occasion.

It was a cheering crowd as Roberts, 62, appeared donning a white blazer and white pants with heels. Her partner of 18 years was in a white jumpsuit.

“This is wonderful,” Roberts said with enthusiasm, recognizing many people in the crowd and acknowledging them.

There were many touching moments in the show as it progressed.

Extra correspondent and husband of GMA Weekend anchor Gio Benitez, Tommy DiDario, even jumped out of a cake.

“Could 14-year-old Robin Roberts have imagined she’d be having a bachelorette party on national television?” asked fellow GMA host George Stephanopoulos.

“Uh-uh, no,” Roberts remarked as she shook her head. “Especially to a woman.”

After eight years of dating (the two met on a blind date in 2005), Roberts acknowledged her sexuality and her romance with Laign publicly for the first time in December 2013. Roberts, who had been very sick, thanked her “longtime girlfriend Amber” on Facebook for supporting her recovery from a bone marrow transplant for myelodysplastic syndrome that saved her life.

The bachelorette celebration comes after a challenging year. Roberts revealed in February 2022 that Laign had been diagnosed with breast cancer in a video posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Laign completed her treatment in July 2022, she revealed in a subsequent video.

In January, the couple announced their intentions to wed this year.
