Actress of the moment Jenna Coleman appeared on ITV’s Good Morning Britain today to promote her upcoming role in ITV’s latest drama Victoria. The 30-year-old plays the title role in the series based on the monarch’s life, but the interview with hosts Kate Garraway,49, and Ben Shepherd,41, soon became awkward.

The star who hails from Blackpool appeared to become very uncomfortable when during the interview, talk turned to her alleged romance with Prince Harry. Ironically, it’s Harry’s great-great-great-great grandmother she is playing in her new role.

Jenna and Harry sparked rumours of a romantic liaison after being snapped looking intimate at the Audi Polo Challenge in Ascot, last summer. Towards the end of Jenna’s interview, presenter Kate, 49, quizzed her on her personal life, a slightly giddy, Kate asked: ‘Talking about passion, there have been pictures of you and Prince Harry, I’m assuming you were together for research, for the Royal Family?’

Clearly annoyed and looking slightly awkward, Jenna responded: ‘No, he is a friend of mine.’ The atmosphere soon turned frosty as the former Doctor Who star thanked Kate and Ben for their time.

Fans soon took to Twitter to slam Kate Garraway on her questioning.

One fan remarked: ‘After seeing a snippet of Jenna Coleman’s GMB interview. I think she did very well to hold her tongue, @Jenna_Coleman very sophisticated.’

While another said: 'My new fav b***h face: Jenna Coleman being asked about her relationship with Prince Harry on GMB.’

Jenna is believed to have been single since splitting with Games of Thrones actor Richard Madden, 30, last year. Although it was rumoured she had grown close to her Victoria co-star Tom Hughes, 30, after the pair were spotted leaving the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in June.
