Good Morning Britain co-presenter Piers Morgan has called himself a "bellend" live on the show... a moniker we're sure no-one has ever attributed to him.

The morning TV star was speaking on today's (February 24) episode about the idea of teachers getting tattoos, a topic Morgan naturally had some opinions on.

However, when one person on social media suggested that he himself get a tattoo live on GMB, the presenter replied: "What would I put? 'Legend' across my forehead?

"Something else across your forehead," co-presenter Susanna Reid then suggested, before Morgan interjected: "Bellend?"

Quickly realising his slip-up on live TV, Susanna's face said it all.

"You said it!" she noted, before Morgan admitted that people do actually call him that.

"I like saying that," he added. "Everyone goes, 'Oh that's outrageous!' They literally call me it all day long."

Viewers on Twitter found the moment hilarious, one writing: "Fastest ive ever heard him shut his gob.... after the bellend comment."

Another joked: "You know @susannareid100 has been waiting for that slip up for ages #bellend you said it @piersmorgan."

Meanwhile, last year Morgan's BBC Breakfast rival Dan Walker pointed out a big flaw in one of the GMB star's brags about his show's ratings.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
