DANUBE — The Danube Lions Club supper will be served from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at the Community Center. Freewill donation.

Otto Bremer Trust

WILLMAR — The Otto Bremer Trust has awarded $12,125,516 in grants as part of its most recent grantmaking cycle. Area groups receiving grants include:

Granite Falls Living At Home Block Nurse Program: Granite Falls, 30,000, for general operations to provide services and programs for seniors and people with disabilities to live well and safely in their own homes.

Safe Avenues: Willmar, $60,000, to provide parent education classes and supervised visitations for children and families experiencing separation in southwest Minnesota.

West Central Industries Inc.: Willmar, $55,000, to make necessary building and grounds repairs to provide continued services to persons with disabilities in west central Minnesota.

Women's Foundation of Minnesota

WILLMAR — The Women's Foundation of Minnesota has awarded the second year of 20 multi-year grants to nonprofit organizations through its girlsBEST (girls Building Economic Success Together) Fund. Multi-year grants will be renewed for up to three years, based on an annual grant review and approval of progress towards goals.

United Community Action Partnership: Marshall. $14,000, to support Generation Next, which works with girls, ages 12 to 18, and focuses on building awareness around gender inequities and cultural competency as a group and in their schools and local communities.

Dakota Wicohan: Morton, $19,000, to provide the Dakota Wicohan's Dakota Itancanpi Kte Unkihduwiyayapi / Dakota Youth Leadership Program, the only year-round, out-of-school youth program in the Lower Sioux area. Dakota Wicohan empowers Dakota youth and prepares them as culture bearers, positively connects them to their community, and grounds them in their Dakota culture to help them on a path to contribute to the community academically, economically, socially and culturally.

Homeless crisis line

WILLMAR — United Community Action Partnership has a 24/7 crisis line for people experiencing homelessness. The crisis line will operate outside of regular business hours and will be solely dedicated to helping people find emergency shelter.

Anyone in need of shelter should first call their local UCAP office during regular hours. Outside of business hours, those in need should call the crisis line. Those in Kandiyohi, McLeod, Meeker, Renville, and Redwood Counties should dial 320-587-5244, extension 12. Screening questions will be asked to determine eligibility and coordinate appropriate shelter and other services as needed.

Habitat for Humanity

WILLMAR — Habitat for Humanity of West Central Minnesota ReStore accepts donations of building materials, large appliances, furniture and more. All donations must be approved by staff before acceptance. Donations can be brought to 2424 First Street South in Willmar between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday.
