BLOMKEST — The Blomkest Fire Department Relief Association will serve a fish fry from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 20, at the Blomkest Community Center. Dine-in or take out. Deep fried fish or pork chop, french fries or baked potato, coleslaw, bread, coffee and lemonade. Freewill donations, recommended $15 for adults, $7 for ages 12 & under. Beer and raffle tickets available.
Sloppy Joe supper
NEW LONDON — The sloppy Joe supper will be served from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 6 as a drive through at the New London-Spicer High School. Each meal ticket will be for one sloppy Joe, carrots, potato chips, cookie and a water. No physical tickets will be sold, all pre-sale will be done online. Fourth-grade students will give out cards with a QR code or you can log on to newlondonspicer.square.site to order meals. Meals and extra sloppy Joes can also be purchased the night of the event with credit card, cash or check.
AIM rose sale
WILLMAR — The annual Advocacy and Inclusion Matter rose sale will be taking orders from March 2 through April 22. Drive-thru pickup will be from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at the former JC Penney entrance in the Uptown Willmar mall. OLIVIA — A GoFundMe account has been created for Joy Landin who was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductal breast cancer and underwent chemotherapy and a double mastectomy. Landin was born and raised in Willmar and is currently living in Olivia. She has worked in the food service industry for more than 28 years, feeding elderly and hospital patients. UCAP launches crisis line
WILLMAR — United Community Action Partnership announces a new 24/7 crisis line for people experiencing homelessness. The crisis line will operate outside of regular business hours and will be solely dedicated to helping people find emergency shelter.
Anyone in need of shelter should first call their local UCAP office during regular hours. Outside of business hours, those in need should call the crisis line. Those in Kandiyohi, McLeod, Meeker, Renville, and Redwood Counties should dial 320-587-5244, extension 12. Screening questions will be asked to determine eligibility and coordinate appropriate shelter and other services as needed.
Habitat for Humanity
WILLMAR — Habitat for Humanity of West Central Minnesota ReStore accepts donations of building materials, large appliances, furniture and more. All donations must be approved by staff before acceptance. Donations can be brought to 2424 First Street South in Willmar between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday.
