Good night for Great Plains and Hamlin teams; Watertown's girls

Great Plains Lutheran recorded a home sweep of Waverly-South Shore in boys and girls basketball and Watertown and Hamlin's girls basketball teams also recorded wins on Thursday night.

GPL's girls won 63-23 and the Panther boys followed with a 63-47 in a twinbill at GPLHS in Watertown.

Halle Bauer tallied 19 points, Abby Kjenstad 12 and Esta Cameron nine for Great Plains Lutheran's girls, who improved to 9-10. Kjenstad added five rebounds, Katherine Prahl four assists and Bauer three steals and three assists.

Carlee Mushitz led Waverly-South Shore (0-19) with 10 points.

GPL's boys improved to 7-10 behind Austin Rubendall's 24 points and 10 rebounds. Myles York added 14 points and 13 rebounds, Alex Heil 10 points and four assists and Micah Holien eight points and five streals.

Landon Maag poured in 27 points and Troy Kneeland six for Waverly-South Shore (8-10).

Other Girls Basketball

Watertown 56, Huron 48: The Arrows (10-8) completed a season-sweep over the Tigers with a win at Huron.

Jaida Young scored 17 points, Miranda Falconer 12, Kendall Paulson and Emery Thury eight each and Grace Corey seven for Watertown. Corey also collected seven rebounds. The Arrows host Aberdeen Central at 7 p.m. Monday in the Watertown Civic Arena.

Huron (9-9) was paced by Heaven Gainey's 19 points, Isabelle Ellwein's 11 points and seven rebounds and Hamtyn Heinz nine points.

Hamlin 65, Clark-Willow Lake 30: The top-rated Class A Chargers capped a 19-0 regular season and concluded a perfect Northeast Conference slate. The Chargers won the NEC for the ninth-straight year (eight alone and one shared with Webster Area in 2015-16) and upped their conference winning streak to 71-straight games dating back to 2015-16. Tim Koisti has been the team's head coach during the run of NEC dominance, which includes a 86-2 record since 2014-15.

Kami Wadworth poured in 30 points and Marissa Bawdon added 14, Ally Abraham nine and Addie Neuendorf nine for Hamlin. Summer Seefeldt had 12 points and Musonda Kabwe seven for Clark-Willow Lake (7-12).

Milbank 49, Webster Area 42: The Bulldogs (12-7) won the Northeast Conference game with 20 points and six rebounds from Maurina Street, 16 points from Tyra Berry, eight points from Siera Wenzl and seven rebounds from Claire Snaza. Erin Sannes collected 14 points, Harley Johnson 10 points, Payton Snell six points and seven rebounds and Erin Case six points and six rebounds for the Bearcats (7-12).

Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 59, Iroquois-Lake Preston 38: SCW closed out a 10-10 regular season with 18 points from Jaycee Baruth, 14 from Liz Boschee and 12 from Kennadie Ochsner. Ava Malone finished with 11 points, Hadlee Holt nine points and eight rebounds and Adison Moore seven points for ILP (6-14).

Deubrook Area 58, Elkton-Lake Benton 48: Brooke Koppatschek scored 19 points, Kadence Bowne 13 and Ellie Koenig 12 for Deubrook Area (15-4) in the Dakota Valley Conference game. Rachel Krog (17 points), Kylie Ramlo (16 points) and Tevan Erickson (12 points) led the 11-8 Elks.

Castlewood 51, Estelline-Hendricks 27: Maddie Horn produced 18 points, Mackenzie Everson 14, Presley Knecht seven and Gracie Haug six for the Warriors (13-7) in the Dakota Valley Conference game. Kenzy Beare's 12 points and Brooke Johnson's eight paced the Redhawks (8-11).

Potter County 44, Ipswich 34: Ashlee Kaup's 25 points, nine rebounds and six steals led the Battlers (13-6), who also got eight points and nine rebounds from Olivia Mikkelsen and seven rebounds from Emma Schlachter. Kaitlyn Bierman recorded 13 points and Gabby Wald 10 for the Tigers (4-15). Kaylin Onken hauled in eight rebounds and Bierman seven. Bierman also had six steals.

Herreid-Selby Area 64, Northwestern 47: The Wolverines (10-10) took advantage of 15 points and 12 rebounds from Jordyn Rossow and 12 and 10 from Jada Rossow to get the win. Jennica Berens contributed 13 points and six rebounds and Stephanie Allbee 10 points. Ashley Haven, Ella Boekelheide and Tara Blachford each scored nine points and Adriana Ratigan eight for Northwestern (12-7). Ashley Haven pulled down 18 rebounds and Ella Haven 10.

Sully Buttes 39, Faulkton Area 31: Allyson Wittler's 13 points and Lydia Hill's 10 points and 13 rebounds lifted the third-rated Class B Chargers (17-3). Addison Chicoine pitched in with nine points. Paisley Martinmaas scored nine points and Ashly Senn seven for Faulkton Area (8-11). Addison Melius garnered nine rebounds and Senn six.

Garretson 45, Sioux Valley 43: Garretson closed out a 13-7 regular season with 12 points from Jordyn Williams, 11 from Reagan Altman and eight points and 12 rebounds from Kylie Christensen. Landree Wilson had 14 points, Isabelle Bloker 12 points and Keyra Kruse 11 points and 11 rebounds for Sioux Valley (13-7).

Sisseton 52, Florence-Henry 42: The Redmen (17-2) used 16 points and seven rebounds from Chloe Langager, eight points and 10 rebounds from Krista Langager, 12 points and four assists from Hannah Leverson and four assists from Emmalee Nielsen to win. Trinity Watson scored 12 points and Haley Hlavacek and Macey Lane eight each for the Falcons (15-2). Hlavacek also made fie steals.

Wolsey-Wessington 65, Hitchcock-Tulare 44: The second-rated Class B Warbirds closed out an 18-2 regular season with 20 points and six rebounds from Mallory Miller, 18 points and seven assists from Leah Williams and 13 points from Mya Boomsma. Katelyn Schroeder collected 14 points, Isabel Gilbert 10 and Cambree Hoekman eight for the Patriots.

Aberdeen Roncalli 55, Deuel 30: Ava Hanson produced 21 points, Claire Crawford 11 and McKenna O'Keefe 10 to spark Roncalli (10-9) to the Northeast Conference win. Crawford also hauled in six rebounds. Harley Hennings (11 points and six rebounds) and Josie Anderson (11 points) topped Deuel, which fell to 4-16.

Aberdeen Christian 49, Langford Area 22: The Knights improved to 2-18 with 13 points from Rachel Beaner and 11 each from Chloe Holt and Chloe Bosma. Alexandra Darling led Langford Area (3-14) with nine.

Lac qui Parle Valley 69, Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 54 (Minn.): Camryn Lee's 28-points, 15-rebounds paved the way for LqPV (22-3). Rylee Lund added 15 points and five assists, Isabel Gerdes 11 points, Taylor Shelstad nine rebounds and nine assists and Ayana Gibson five assists. Maddy Grove had 14 points and Kaylee Harstad 13 for MACA.

Scores: Leola-Frederick Area 60, North Central 58Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 64, Ortonville 21 (Minn.); Wabasso 65, Dawson-Boyd 41 (Minn.); and Tri-State 66, Richland 44 in North Dakota Region 1B. No other details were reported.

Hamlin 56, Clark-Willow Lake 42: Hamlin (15-3, 9-0 in the Northeast Conference) won the league title outright for the first time in 25 years (1997-98) with the win over Clark-Willow Lake (13-5, 8-1). The Chargers and Cyclones shared the league title last winter with Groton Area.

Tyson Stevenson scored 19 points, Jackson Wadsworth 11, Easton Neuendorf 10 and Brennan Keszler nine for Hamlin. Trey Huber had 16 points, Brady Jordan 10 and Kaplan Felberg eight for CWL.

Sioux Valley 77, Garretson 18: The second-rated Class A Cossacks (18-1) wrapped up the Big East Conference title with the help of 18 points and five assists from Maverick Nelson, 13 points and six assists from Oliver Vincent, 12 points and 13 rebounds from Alec Squires and nine points apiece from Maxwell Engebretson and Patrick Carey. Sam Schleuter finished with nine points and eight rebounds for Garretson (0-19).

Aberdeen Christian 72, Langford Area 32: Ethan Russell led a balanced attack with 19 points for the top-rated Class B Knights (17-2). Malek Wieker, Jackson Isakson and Ellis Russell each followed with nine, Kaden Clarke eight and Becker Bosma seven. Kassen Keough's 15 points and Jesse Keough's 13 points and 10 rebounds led the Lions (4-14).

Potter County 67, Ipswich 59: A 38-point, nine rebound performance by Ryder Falkenhagen led Potter County (3-15). He went 12-for-19 from the field with a 3-pointer and 13-for-15 from the free-throw line. Landon Larson contributed 15 points and Alex Tanner nine rebounds. Trevor Heinz had 16 points, Ian Beyers 13, Tyler Hettich nine and Carter Geditz eight for Ipswich (11-6). Geditz also grabbed eight rebounds.

Deubrook Area 58, Elkton-Lake Benton 48: Jake Jorenby's 20 points carried the Dolphins (7-11) to the Dakota Valley Conference win. Gavin Landmark added 13 and Landen Johnson eight. The Elks (6-12) received 15 points and four steals from Ryan Krog, 11 points and seven assists from Tanner Stein and eight points and six rebounds from Carson Griffith.

Iroquois-Lake Preston 45, Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 42: The Sharks (7-11) got 13 points from Logan Peskey, 11 from Tobias Arbeiter, 10 from Riley Casper and seven from Weston Woodcock. Jeff Boschee tallied 15 and Bryce Larson 10 for SCW (6-13).

Deuel 65, Aberdeen Roncalli 43: Trey Maaland's 23 points led Deuel (11-6) to the Northeast Conference win. Braydon Simon added 12 points and seven rebounds, Gavin Benck nine points and Owen Quail eight. Aiden Fisher scored 12 points and Maddox Miller and Maddox Miller eight each. Miller, Fisher and Jayden Munroe hauled in five rebounds apiece.

Faulkton Area 62, Sully Buttes 56 (OT): Layne Cotton's 29-point, 12-rebound performance led Faulkton Area (9-10). Charlie Dieter added 16 points and Roman DiMaria eight points and five assists. Landon Hepker paced Sully Buttes (5-13) with 19 points, 13 rebounds and six assists. Wesley Wittler chipped in with 17 points.

Florence-Henry 51, Sisseton 38: Peyton Roe tallied 22 points and Mehki Keller 15 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Falcons (9-9). Adam Moe also snared six rebounds. Sisseton (1-18) received 11 points from Nate Tchida, nine from Ethan DeSpiegler and seven from Colter Hanson. Hanson added 10 rebounds and six assists and Dana Bravebulll and Dean Shultz each eight rebounds.

Scores: Wolsey-Wessington 69, Hitchcock-Tulare 43; Ellendale 52, Strasburg-Zeeland 26 (N.D.); Linton/Hazelton-Moffitt-Braddock 71, Oakes 52 (N.D.); Border West 74, Lac qui Parle Valley 72 (Minn.); Hancock 77, Canby 56 (Minn.) and Minneota 69, Ortonville (Minn.) 59. No other details were reported.
